SWBAT meet or exceed standards on AIMS by reading passages and practicing test questions.

Lesson

  • No Jumpstart: Amy’s family is about to leave for a month-long vacation. Before they leave, her mother asks her write a note to the house sitter explaining which plants need to be watered, where to find the dog food, etc. What type of letter should Amy write? A conversational and informative letter? A persuasive and convincing letter? An entertaining and witty letter? A somber and serious letter?  Consider who she is writing to and why she is writing and explain your answer.

  • Entreprenuers Unite! Meet with your groups to discuss your print and live ads. Remember to include two types of propaganda. Be prepared to present both ads to the class on Monday.
